Comfort & Joy: Jimmy's On The Park

Two years ago, my holidays were a blur. Ruby had not yet figured out the difference between day and night. I had not yet figured out the whole "mom" thing. (Full disclosure: I'm still working on that one.) Showering before noon - or at all - was a major accomplishment. My bleary eyes could barely focus on our haphazardly decorated tree, and going to holiday parties was not exactly a top priority

Now that I'm back to regular showers and a solid 7 hours of sleep per night, I am really enjoying the holidays! This year's Christmas tree is extra-special due to Ruby's decorating help and daily affirmations that the tree is "boo-ti-ful." Yep, I'm solidly in the holiday spirit.

Comfort and joy filled my heart as I joined several local food and fashion bloggers for a delicious introduction to a restaurant I'd passed but never tried: Jimmy's On The Park. We started with drinks and appetizers (I highly recommend the flash-fried, melts-in-your-mouth spinach) in the cozy bar area. Next, we headed to our tables and heard about the evening's seafood and steak specials. It was a tough choice, but I decided upon the tenderloin linguine. Yum. I also sampled the scallops and was very impressed. Totally stuffed, I somehow managed to get in a few bites of their award-winning bread pudding and was sooooooo glad I did. Bread pudding happens to be one of my all-time favorite desserts (we're talking desert island food for me) and Jimmy's may just be the best I've ever had. If you're in St. Louis or visiting, Jimmy's makes a fun spot for date night or a night out with the girls.
Jimmy's On The Park is located at 706 Demun Ave. Clayton, MO 63104
The dinner was kinda last-minute, so I quickly assembled a trusty outfit combo: funky shoes, vintage accessories, sparkles, and a classic color palette.
Cardigan: paperdolls Boutique; Vintage Pendant: Rung; Purse: Retro 101; Shoes: Luichiny; Tee & Leggings: Rue 21
The owner got a kick out of my shoes - these eye-catching beauts are nearly impossible to drive in, but usually create a sensation. Totally worth it.
How are you enjoying your holidays so far?

P.S. Special thanks to Jimmy's On The Park and the Midwest Influencer Network for treating me to my dinner!
