Sweetly tucked between a barber shop and a post office sits Parsimonia, a store specializing in vintage threads and accessories for women, men, and children. Located in the heart of the South Grand area (known for its eclectic community of international foodies, crafty cocktail imbibers, bikers, and gelato-samplers), Parsimonia's delightful wallpaper invites both vintage enthusiasts and passersby to take a gander.
The owner's thoughtful curation is apparent in the layout as well as the selection. While some vintage stores are so stuffed with merchandise that shopping becomes a challenge, Parsimonia focuses on putting out the best of the best in an easy-to-navigate manner. The owner finds the vintage gems through private buying, either estates or individuals who reach out to her with special pieces. The price point also varies to fit most budgets - ladies looking for a steal can find a ruffled blouse around $15, while gals treating themselves to a splurge can score a rare pair of 1950s sunglasses for around $50.
The charming, nostalgic store celebrated its 2-year anniversary in an equally charming and nostalgic manner: an ode-to-autumn party complete with a s'mores bar and fresh fall duds. (Not sure what I love more - vintage or s'mores.) After sifting through the merchandise waiting for style inspiration to strike, I narrowed my picks down to 3: a tasty, fruit-covered top, a blue jacket, and an oh-so-Carmen quirky purse. To give the retro jacket a more modern flair, I mixed it with a simple white tee and metal accessories. I'm kinda loving the not-usually-my-style sporty vibe. Check it out:

P. S. S. I have a black top from Parsimonia with lace and fringe that I've been waiting months to wear. It's simply too amazing to debut at any old event, so I'm saving it for something special. Stay tuned.
